What Is Victron Remote Monitoring?

Victron Remote Monitoring (VRM) is an awesome extension of Victron Energy’s offering that not only allows you to remotely monitor your tiny build from anywhere in the world, but also allows us to remotely configure, commission, manage and troubleshoot your electrical system, wherever you may be. This is all made possible by the Victron Cerbo GX.

Whether it’s performing firmware updates from the Pyrenees or recalibrating your battery monitor in the Arctic Circle, we’ve got you covered!

The Benefits & Features of VRM

Remote Configuration

For the ultimate stress free experience  – once you have everything in place, we’ll remotely connect to your system and configure your electrical components (MultiPlus, MPPT, Battery Monitor etc).

Monitoring

Both yourself and Tiny Build Electrics can simultaneously monitor your power usage in real-time, including State of Charge, Solar and Alternator Yield, Generator and/or Shore Power status. If you have the sensors installed, we can also track a variety of different temperature parameters (battery/fridge/engine/exterior) and even your grey, fresh and LPG tank levels!

Management

We can collaboratively manage your system remotely. By setting performance diagnostic checks, alarms and alerts, we can catch any potential issues and potentially prevent full system failure. If need be, *we can also switch on/off your inverter should you need to conserve power!
*Excluding Victron Smart Lithium Systems

Optimise

VRM gives the ability to analyse trends with detailed analytical reports to help understand, optimise and troubleshoot your systems performance.

Real-Time

With ever changing real-life circumstances in off-grid living, the ability to take immediate action based on real-time data is invaluable for your system’s performance and longevity.

Requirements For Remote Monitoring:

Your Cerbo GX requires your Charge Controllers, Battery Monitors and Inverters to be connected via VE.Direct, VE.Bus or VE.Can – the easiest way to achieve this is by using Victron Energy products and cables.

For us to remotely configure and commission your tiny build, we’ll require a permanent/live 4G WiFi connection. If you want to monitor your solar from the beach, or you encounter electrical problems in the Alps, having a 4G router on board gives you a reliable internet connection wherever you are!

We recommend the Victron GX LTE 4G because it is a dedicated internet and GPS connection solely for your Victron system. The system can therefore be tracked as well as Geo-fenced on the VRM Portal.
